If your domain is registered with another registrar and you want to use our hosting services but aren't able to transfer it directly (see Registering a domain), you will want to use the below steps.
This will allow limited control of the domain from within your account. Please note that certain steps such as changing nameservers will have to be done directly with your registrar.
You will also want to ensure that the external domain entered is spelled correctly and that the nameservers are set according to our hosting service specifications. Currently we ask that you use the following nameservers:
ns11.bravehost.com
ns12.bravehost.com
Please note that nameserver changes generally take 24-48 hours to take effect, and can in some cases take up to 72 hours, so attempting to host a newly added external domain with our nameservers will likely not work unless the domain has been configured with these nameservers and the appropriate length of time has passed.
There is no cost associated with adding an external domain.
How to Get There
- Log in to your Bravenet account.
- Click on the Domains tab.
- Click on New External Domain.
