How to Force SSL on a Site Builder Subdomain (Force HTTPS)

Revision as of 12:20, 3 November 2022 by Wikiadmin (talk | contribs)

We now offer SSL on our free subdomains including our *.bravesites.com subdomains which are available on our Bravenet Site Builder websites!

If your Site Builder website was created before November 2nd, 2022, you will be able to access your website through both the http://*.bravesites.com/ and https://*.bravesites.com URLs. If you would prefer your website to always be accessed through the secure HTTPS URL, you can enable the ability to force HTTPS, which will redirect all HTTP requests to HTTPS.

If your Site Builder website was created after November 2nd, 2022, then no action is required and your *.bravesites.com subdomain will force HTTPS by default.

How to Force SSL on your Bravesites Subdomain

  1. Login to your Bravenet account.
  2. Visit the “Site Builder” tab.
  3. Under your Websites list, click “Force HTTPS” next to your website.

Note: If you do not see the “Force HTTPS” option, your website may have been created after November 2nd, 2022. In this case, your *.bravesites.com website will have the Force HTTPS option already enabled.

Please be aware that this option is only available on our free Bravenet subdomains. If you have your own custom domain name, you will need to obtain and install your own SSL certificate for your domain. If you would like to learn more about how to obtain an SSL certificate on your own domain name, please see our article on How to Setup HTTPS/SSL Certificates.
